3 easier miles than yesterday.  I just want to take the recovery easy so I'm able to heal and not get injured.  But I'm glad I can do it with some easy runs.  I'm hoping to get a longer easy run in tomorrow.

paces were 10:30-9:30.  Misty rain, windy.  Just right :-)

On an awesome note...last night I got to listen to Billy Mills give a speech.  I was able to meet him and get his autograph & get my photo taken with him after.  He was/is so inspirational.  He was recently listed in the Runner's World magazine as "The best underdog story of all time."  He won the 10K in Tokyo's 1964 Olympics.  His win is on youtube, and it's amazing to watch.

QP - I'm jealous, Billy Mills picture and auto-graph. Under dog to top dog. I am kind of an autogrpah chaser, have Alberto Salazar and Join Benoit Samulson.

Stay Kool, Good luck on the next quest, B of BS Rools out

I'm so glad there was a 'highlight' to your day yesterday! Great recovery miles...you'll have to share your favorite quote/story and the pix with us!

From The Quiet Pirate on Fri, Nov 13, 2009 at 15:10:54 from 24.199.205.252

Yea RAD- rub it in that I can't get the photo to attach! I even tried to get the students to help me, and they couldn't figure it out. So it's not just me.

My favorite quote:

"It's the journey, not the destination that determines your power."

I also liked, "Accept defeat, but not failure" and "It's the pursuit of the dream that heals you."

That's a cool photo.

(I sort of expected him to look more like Robbie Benson...)

Billy Mills really was great. He stayed after and met with all the students and parents, and the community members who'd come out to see him.

CAL- He actually told us a story about how he'd run a charity run with Robbie Benson a few years back, and when they were running (together), he heard people from the crowd say, "Oh, look, there's Running Brave (meaning Robbie Benson)...we could see him better if that old man (Billy Mills) would move out of the way! Billy said he looked around to see who the old man was they were talking about....it took him a minute to realize they were talking about him!

It was the story he told to show how our perceptions are our biggest stumbling blocks.

RAD- thanks :-)

It sounds like you are recovery nicely. Just keep on keeping it easy for now.
