I finally woke up feeling better.  Man, it's been a long week.

I decided to take it easy, so I just ran around the neighborhood.  Went out around 6:30.  Still cool, and the sun was up so I got to leave the headlamp at home.  My watch was dead, so I borrowed MR's.  He has different settings on his, so all I could see was the miles and total time.

I was going to run 4, then decided I'd make it 40 minutes instead.  When I finished and went to 6.check the splits on the watch, I realized he'd had it set for bike instead of run.  So I'm not sure what my splits were.  My average speed however, was 6.7mh.  Oh well.  The little calculator on the side of the blog says that 40:00/4.52= 8.51.  I guess I'll take that.

I came home and stretched out and then did 30 minutes on the elliptical.  I'm hoping I'll get a bike ride in today too before the rain comes.  I'd like to be able to ride my bike to walmart to return redbox and pick up some photos, but the traffic in that part of town is freaky scary.

I did see a little gray kitten dead on the side of the road, but it made me sad and I didn't want to take a picture of it.  Poor kitten.  We've got too many stray cats here.  I'll quote the great Bob Barker, "Remember folks,  don't forget to spay and neuter your pets."

So instead of dead kittens, I'll put up a photo of the pink dinosaur we saw on our trail run 2 weeks ago.  There was a tornado that went through the houses that are along the trail.  Someone must be missing this ugly critter.  I will call him trail treasure #2.

Glad you are feeling better, and enjoyed a cool weather run.

By the way, what ever happened to Bob Barker?

From RAD on Thu, Jun 16, 2011 at 16:20:56 from 98.202.17.113

Happy to hear you're feeling better. Thanks for not putting the kitty up, I was just happy that I got to your blog and didn't see anymore dead deer :) They give me the willies when I have to run past them here!

Sorry to break up this family reunion, but I neutered Bob Barker.

From Terri on Thu, Jun 16, 2011 at 19:38:12 from 96.231.237.164

Sounds like your summer break is getting off to a great start! Can't wait to start mine.

From Carolyn in Colorado on Fri, Jun 17, 2011 at 12:16:35 from 76.25.72.82

I think Bob Barker got to old to get frisky with his assistants.

I'm glad you're feeling better. 8:51 is a pretty good clip for an easy run.

Bye-Wing: see Burt and Carolyn's remarks if you want to know what happened to Bob. Evidently Burt neutered him and he lost his mojo & quit hitting on the ladies. Now they're all running from Drew Carey.

RAD- at least it's not Bob Barker giving you the willies. ;-)

Burt- It's not a real reunion until someone throws a wooden spoon at you. Thanks for taking care of Bob.

Terri- it's been a great 3 days of summer so far!

Carolyn: I guess it wasn't age, but Burt that stole the old man's giddy-up. Either way, he was way past his expiration date. I think I saw someone draw a black line through his upc code and put him on the "discount" rack 10 years ago. Which may explain why he's now in my mother's pantry.

My mother-in-law always gives us expired food from her pantry.

From bye-wing on Sat, Jun 18, 2011 at 11:06:59 from 124.122.196.121

Bob Barker, dead animals, expired pantry food, mother-in-laws...you guys crack me up! Love the sense of humor, keep it coming :)

From Carolyn in Colorado on Sat, Jun 18, 2011 at 14:39:23 from 76.25.72.82

My mother-in-law sends us "care packages" for every holiday. They very often contain little packets of beef jerkey that have been expired for at least two years that come from her food storage. We check the expiration dates and then throw it all away.

LOL! It's the thought that counts.
