Ahhh... It wasn't Saint George, but it was my own little half marathon ode to the hard core runners down in Dixie doing their thing!
I ran a couple miles and then did the knee-brace readjust & stretch thing before heading out for the rest of the run. It actually went pretty well. Wonderful cool weather, and plenty of shade the first 3/4 of the run. MR was the best waterboy/road guard ever, and I felt strong at the end and sped up the last 2.5 miles.
We saw a dead opossum but no snakes :-( There were so many flowers in bloom! 5 different shades of morning glory winding through the edges of the soybean fields, some little orange blooms, a few different types of yellow blooms, and believe it or not, the honeysuckle was in bloom again too. I love running along the honeysuckle when it's in bloom and it smells so darn good!! |
