Nice morning for a race.  Not too much sun, a little overcast, and a great crowd.  I had not trained or prepared for this run in any way, shape, or form.  I wanted to run my best, but I knew there wasn't any way it would be my best because I was out of shape for the run.

Got to hang out with RAD and Bye-Wing at the POP line.  Good times!!

The race was really pretty good.  I like downhills, and I like crowds to cheer me on.  I wished I would have had some water- I got thirsty/dry mouth more than I'd like.  I had to walk a little at the mile 5 water stop.  I had been running faster than I normally do and it had caught up with me.

In the end I was happy with my time considering how unprepared I was.  I got to see Bye-wing finish, and I got to see RAD run across the finish line 3 times with her kids.

When everyone finished, I had to run one more time - to MR waiting in the car.  Time to drive home :-(

Sitting in the car for 12 hours a day for 3 days does not help one stretch out and work out the sore muscles.  I wish I would have walked and stretched out a little more before leaving.  But if wishes came true, I'd still be with the girls running in Zion.

QP, glad you got to run Des News with your sisters. Sounds like fun. What is up with your training? DEs News is always tougher than it seems, go out too fast, hard grind turning back east towards the finish. I would say you had a very good time given spending all that time in a car.

Brent- I did enjoy DesNews. It is very easy to go too fast on that downhill at the beginning. I'm not used to running hills, and my quads reminded me of that for the rest of the week.

As for training, I don't have anything looming on the horizon, nothing to really "train" for, and the summer heat out here is unwelcoming. So I'm taking it "easy" during the summer- trying to do lots of different activities, and plan on getting my running back on when it cools off a little.

I had such a great time with you this summer! I got spoiled always having you around to go on adventures with. Maybe in 15 years when I can leave my kids then we can meet up and do the month long cross country adventure trip together :) DesNews was a wonderful ending to a great trip. You did a great job!!!

Enjoy the heat and fun stuff until the fall comes on.
