Ran my 10k route to the blinky light and back. MR rode his bike and we discovered that in the same area I'd found the cane, there was a huge part of a car (maybe a rear bumper?) and this made me wonder even more about my old person in the field being eaten by vultures theory. But the vultures were gone, so I'm guessing so was the old person. Either way, the cane is safe :-) The vultures were out on the road though, a mile or so further down, and munching away on some sad little raccoon.
