I got 8 hours of sleep.  It was awesome!

Got up and did some of my physical therapy to get my day started.  Things felt good, and I'm trying to get my diet and sleep in check for the run on Saturday.

Hooray for 8 hours of sleep!

What are you planning to run tomorrow?

From The Quiet Pirate on Fri, Sep 11, 2009 at 11:34:40 from 24.199.205.252

You're not kidding about hooray for 8. I feel like a new woman.

Tomorrow is 14 miles. I haven't gone that long since March. But my 12 last week went so well, that I think it will be fine. I'll be out on the wild dog trail again. It was a beautiful area to run. Mostly packed dirt with some small bits of sand or rock.

I am anxiously looking forward to it. Especially because I've got the Greek Festival and Baklava on the agenda for after I'm done :-p YUM YUM

I am also trying to recruit some co-workers to run with me in a couple of weeks on Saturday. It's my "easy" 5 mile week. I've never put together a group run with mixed-speed runners. Do you have any suggestions?

I haven't done a lot of group runs. We just started this Saturday group that consists of women from my ward. It's been my experience that the slower runners don't want to go as far. Last week was the first time we had a slower runner. We slowed down and ran her distance with her, and then once she dropped off, we sped up. Another alternative, if you've got more than one slower runner, you can pair them together and have the faster runners stay together separately from the slower runners.

Enjoy your baklava!

Hooray for 8!!! I try to hit 8 hrs/night, but I have a hard time going to bed early. Too much of my mother in me :) Wish I was going to the Greek festival!

When we do groups with different speed runners, we usually just kind of pair off for the run...it happens naturally. If you lay the course out at the beginning some will naturally stay behind and some will take off and some will be in the middle. Then we all re-group at the end or even at the turnaround if there is one. As long as everyone has at least one person to run with it should be fine.

Okay Carolyn... the report is in. Grab a snack before you sit down & read it..it's forever long. I must have thought I was back out on the trail today.
