Kind of hate not having #'s to put in the running part, but had a fabulous bike ride today with Wyatt.

We went all over- hit 3 counties, and a dog (not intentionally- he was just running with us for a while, then decided to come to a dead stop in front of my tire).

32 miles +/- since I stopped my garmin once and forgot to start it again.  I'm pretty sure we're only off by .5 mile either way.

Not much road kill, a couple of birds, a raccoon, and a snake that had been hit on the back 1/2, so he was still alive and trying to slither off the road.  Just a black rat snake, no copperheads.

Sit on place is a little sore from being on the bike so long (about 4 hours).  We had to call Wyatt's man a couple of times to make sure we were heading on a road that wouldn't take us too far from home.  Pit stop at McDonalds for a bathroom break.  We went really slow and easy, which made the distance seem like a piece of cake.

Beautiful mental pictures of the soy, cotton & corn fields, with cypress trees in the background, and birds flying overhead from out of the fields.  It's a place I'll go back and visit when I'm stuck in a boring meeting and need to escape.

Road kill adventures. One time on the way back from a father and son's outing we saw the car in front of us run over a snake, but it kept slithering. We stopped and picked it up. The side of its head was crushed. By the time we got home it died :(

you picked up the snake and took it home? Eeewww.

The snake we saw should have been put out of it's misery. Wyatt suggested the pistol, but we decided to just let one of the cars driving by take it out instead.

That's the humane way. Or would that be letting nature run its course?

QP, what the heck, I see a triathlon in your future. How many dollar burgers did you eat at Mickey Dees? Did you put them over the trillon mark? By the way, nice ride.

Stay Kool, B of BS rools out

Record those cross training miles, 4 miles on the bike at a good effort equals 1 mile running for cardio.

Brent- I'm not sure I can call them good effort miles. we were going really slow.

I hadn't pulled any weeds yet today, so I wasn't allowed to treat myself to any dollar burgers. But your comment made me laugh...I do have the potential to push them over the trillion mark.

instead, I'm working on the bag of cookies Wyatt baked for me.

Sounds like a great bike ride. I like to go to those places when I'm on a TM run!

I got my weeding done today :) However, I got treated to Kneaders! I did have to buy my own cookie though.
