I woke up to run and checked my workout log to make sure I had my miles/times right for the tempo run I was going to do.  I saw that this week, they've changed the tempo run to Thursday.

So I did some quick thinking and decided I would go back to sleep and do some elliptical.  I've read it's important to get plenty of sleep the week before a long race, so I thought I could get more rest, and do some moderate elliptical.  I did bleachers yesterday and figured it wouldn't hurt my legs to rest a little more.

I did 25 min on the elliptical, then all of my physical therapy stuff.  I thought that would be enough, but I feel sluggish (like I haven't done a workout at all).  Maybe I'll do my tempo run tonight after school...I don't know.  I just feel like I didn't do enough...is this normal for taper week?

Yes, I think that's normal for taper week. I felt sluggish and like I wasn't doing much in the few days before my marathon, but then my marathon went well. Getting extra sleep is good idea. And avoid stress if you can.

YUP! You want to feel like you've been forced not to run and all you want to do is get out and run. When I felt that way going into Ogden I felt GREAT. Even at mile 10 I asked TJ "how long am I going to feel this good?" I was hitting 8mm or below. You will regret having unrested legs, this was TOU for me! I was at mile 2 again doing 8mm or so and waiting for the first aid station so I'd have an excuse to stop, because my legs were already tired.

Keep those legs fresh!! Never feel exhausted, and yes sleep is more important than anything this week...helps keep the gylcogen supply fresh and topped off and repairs any deep damage. You'll do great, just remember this week is a SUPER easy one!!

The anxiety is kind of building up inside.

I guess when I'm usually anxious about something, I just go run till I'm too tired to care anymore.

That would be counter-productive in this case, so I'm not sure what to do with my anxiety.

Halloween candy sounds like a good option, but I'm thinking it's not really the right answer either.
