I laid out my running stuff last night thinking that maybe I'd be able to try to jog a little this morning.  But laying in bed all night made me super stiff again.  I took the easier route and clamored up on the elliptical for a 20 minute workout.  Started out slow, but but 17 minutes, I actually felt good. It's 3 hours later now, and I can feel the soreness coming back.

I think that's the encouragement I need to get out there and work my muscles a little more to help them feel better.   Maybe I'll try the easy jog tomorrow.

I bought that huge bag of chocolate cereal for breakfast to eat when I'd finished the race, and it's so uappealing in the morning, I haven't been able to eat it for breakfast yet.  I actually thought about making my oatmeal again this morning.  I went for a pb&j bagel instead.

Good job on the elliptical today. Your soreness and stiffness are to be expected. Just take it easy and don't try to get back to running too quickly.

The PB&J bagel is more healthy than the chocolate cereal and will do more for your recovery, though I totally understand your desire for a chocolaty reward.

Nice work just getting those legs moving, honestly starting is the hard part! I'm with Carolyn, just take it easy - you really won't regret it!

Have the cereal for a yummy afternoon snack or dessert, chocolate for breakfast doesn't ever sound very good to me either.

Chocolate cereal makes a great midday snack. I hope you feel better.

Chocolate cereal for dessert...that's when I'll eat it. Maybe if I crush it up a little and mix it with some vanilla ice cream....mmmmmmm.

I've actually been craving foods that are healthy. I guess it's what my body wants. My mouth wants candy and french fries and cookies, but when I think about eating them, but stomach wants something else.

I was thinking that if I did run tomorrow, it would be very short and slow. But the elliptical is in the house, and it'll be dry. We're due to get rain for the next 3 days. Maybe I'll run Saturday when it stops raining :-)
