Got up early to knock out my Morning 9.  Warmed up my usual way, and started running slow.  Well, I didn't even get .25 mile.  Knee problems seemed to be back.  Can't figure it out.  So I walked a ways, then tried running a little.  This cycle continued for over a mile.  I was getting ready to give up & just walk for the 90 minutes I had.  Then, after a mile +, the easy run didn't hurt and I just kept on running.  I didn't want to stop & not be able to start again, so I just kept running.  Around mile 5.7, the muscle knot pain in the back of my knee was getting strong & I was near home, so I stopped and stretched out the back of my leg.  It felt great after I stretched, so I went off running again to finish my 90 minutes, and I was able to run better than I had for weeks.

What is up with this knee?

Avg pace was around a 9:40.  Certainly not the 9:20's I had 3 weeks ago, but I'm just thrilled to be running.

QP - hope the knee gets better soon. It is so darn hard not to run, runners gotta run, it must be the pirate in you.

ugghhh...stupid crazy injury problems. I can feel that pain! I am glad that the knee started to behave after stretching, have you tried the roller on the 'knot' pain in the back of your knee? Just an easy light roll every night may help, who knows? Maybe we can run as a 3-legged pirate, 2 halves making one whole! :)

Brent- Thanks for the encouragement. You're right, a pirate without her treasures (seeing road kill & eating cream- not necessarily together) is a sad pirate indeed.

RAD- A 3 legged pirate race...I'm getting giddy just thinking of how funny that would be.
