Back to the darkness.  Wasn't really too bad.  5-6 am.  Avg pace 8:58.  Last mile I was going a little faster, and had a few times I was running at/over 8mm, and was pleased that I didn't have any problems with the back of my leg hurting.

Caught a little bitty glimpse of the sliver of a moon we had this morning.  It was just coming up and I saw it through the trees a couple of times.  Noticeable darker out this morning than it was 2 weeks ago when  I was running in the full moon light.

Spring break was nice.  Looking forward to summer vacation.

It's getting closer to New Moon time :)

Nice job on the miles and getting out and getting them in at a nice pace as well. I hope the first day back is pleasant and uneventful, just like my weekend - oh wait....

Yep, it's back to the darkness for me too. I didn't notice the moon this morning. I think maybe it was cloudy, but I'm not sure on account of the darkness and the tendency I was having to run with my eyes half closed.

Good work getting 6 miles done with darkness. Early morning running is so difficult.

Do y'all (QP and CiC) run with headlamps? Or do you just use the streetlights?

From The Quiet Pirate on Mon, Apr 12, 2010 at 20:07:56 from 65.191.108.72

KP- We both use headlamps. Carolyn uses a pro-type, but I use an energizer variety. Even when there is a full moon, I still use mine to help cars see me. I had a red blinky light that I wear attached to the back of my reflective belt as well. The only car I usually see is the newspaper delivery car, but I always feel better when I'm lit up like a christmas tree!

I meant to answer you about your dogwood question- I haven't noticed a bad smell from the dogwoods. The horrid smells I had trouble with were the flowering pear trees. Those are rotten!

Something smelled really nice today..I wasn't sure what it was, but I'm going to keep my nose on alert so I can figure out what it was.

A pro-type? The brand name of my head lamp is Petzl. I also wear a reflective vest. The brand is Nathan.

Carolyn-What I meant was you have a nicer, more professional style of running headlight. Mine is just a cheap-o version. Sorry if it came across wrong.

I use Petzl too, Carolyn. I just bought the cheapest one my local Fleet Feet had. Like $30?? The first one I picked up was nearly $100. I almost dropped it on the ground when I saw the price!
