I was thrilled to see that it wasn't raining this morning.  So glad the weather forecast was wrong.  It was around 37 degrees the whole 2 hours we were running (1130-130).  Humidity was super low for us, 74 at the start and 64% at the end.

It had stopped raining by 1:30 this morning.  It all went up north, and in Maryland at our old house, they're having record snow of about 2 feet today.  They even shut down the DC Metro.  They're not prepared for weather like that in DC.  I feel bad for people up there, but I was glad I didn't have any of it here today while I was running.

My first 9 miles were between 9:30 and 9:45 m/m paces.  The last 5 miles I was able to pick up the speed.  My last 2 miles were 8:45 and 8:32.  So I got the negative split run in on my long run...and that doesn't usually happen.

Good run, dry weather.  Another Christmas miracle.

Love the Christmas Miracle! I'm glad the weather held out for you...although I know 37 isn't warm at all for you!

Nice work on those paces and getting a negative split! That isn't easy to do, but shows you what you've got left in those legs - even on cold long run days! Maybe your legs just don't like humidity :)

Nice long run. I love it when the weather cooperates. I hope you get your holiday list done and enjoy this next week!

Hello Lil' Pirate! Looks like you are still at it- great job on the long run! Are you training for anything in particular? Thanks for touching base with me. I'm currently in FL on Christmas vacation (seeing the in-laws) I brought my running shoes, but haven't made it out yet. We did get a bit of snow in Winston-Salem just as we were leaving. Just in time to see a bit, enjoy the scenery- then get the heck outta dodge. Yes, the Running of the Lights (3.5 miler I think?) in Tanglewood Park is supposed to be a fabulous run. I may do it, haven't decided yet, I'll check it out when I'm home next week. WAY to get out there in the crazy winter weather! Keep it up!!

QP - very nice winter long run - jealous of your weather. Are you and Christi now east coast sole sistas?

I'm glad you got your Christmas Miracle and nice dry (but cold) weather to run in. I wondered if you were get socked with snow.

Christi- If you do the New Years run, let me know how it is. The view of the lights sounds fabulous.

I'm running now to be ready for the Myrtle Beach Marathon in Feb. I just want to try and run a little faster than my last marathon. It's good to keep me focused over the winter on exercising and not just sleeping in every day.
