| | I spent a good portion of the morning trying to decide where to run. We decided to go on base so we wouldn't have as much traffic to contend with. We took a different kind of route and took a few detours to try and keep the miles between 10 & 14 miles. It was a nice relaxing run. MR was a good waterboy and it was nice to have someone to visit with. I've signed up for an 18 mile trail run in February with Wyatt. This year I'm looking for smaller and less expensive runs. The website for this run is www.runforray.com. In honor of 80's skateboarding royalty Ray Underhill and to raise money for the Chordoma Cancer Foundation. Skaters and cancer- both things that have touched my life ;-)

Ran my 10k route to the stop light in p-town. It was wicked foggy this morning. I can usually see the stoplight a mile away (literally), but today I couldn't see the red glow until I was .33 miles away. And that was just the glow of the light. I think visibility was less than 1/10 of a mile. I had all my lights on and blinking, but I was extra cautious this morning because I know fog makes it hard to see anything and everything.
Here's a photo I took when I got home. It was dark when I started, so this is what kind of visibility I had with the sun up. I did, however, get to see the moon. No fog blocking my view of the moon. :-) The yellow light is a street lamp across the street.
Beautiful 73 degree run home from work. Thank you for nice weather :-) |

Woke to another crazy foggy morning, and just couldn't muster the desire to run. So I slept in a little and then did 30 min elliptical. Almost finished the book I'm reading, which is a diappointment, but when I've already come this far, why quit now?
Ran home- 74 degrees again. Love this nice December weather!! Evidently, so do the gnats. I ran right through a quarter mile long gnat cloud. Up my nose, in my eyes, in my mouth, all over my face and neck (and the all over my hands as I tried to wipe them off my face). Here's a photo of my neck when I got home. No, I'm not growing a beard. ICK!!

No fog! Hooray :-) Nice moon light, slower than the last 3 runs, but it was intentional- my quads above the knees are just a tad bit sore so I took it easy.
Another slow afternoon run- just went around the 'hood. I had my red blinking light on and someone yelled out to me: "Hey! You look like Rudolph." I laughed and had to agree. |

Nice morning, just a little cooler than it's been all week and a lot more windy. I had wind in my face the last half mile and thought it would have slowed me down but I managed to keep a good speed even in the wind. As I ran across the I-95 bridge, I looked down and saw a big box truck on it's side in the median with 3 police cars around it. Someone was having a bad morning. After work, I ran with a new friend. She's just moved to the area and is substituting at our school. We're pretty well matched on pace and I had a nice run with her around the neighborhoods near the school. We ran 5.29 miles and she went home. I still had an hour until the dance recital I was helping with, so I ran a little more on the treadmill upstairs while watching the boy's basketball team run drills in the gym. 30 minutes on a treadmill was enough. I got in 3.21 miles and a cool-down walk in.

Treadmill, dreadmill. It wasn't too bad. I was on vacation and it was foggy outside all day. So MR and mini-me played in the pool and I ran on the treadmill. Had the whole cardio gym to myself. The last 20 minutes, a couple of guys went out to play tennis on the courts that the machines look out on. It was a welcome distraction for a while :-) |

Went to the hotel pool and tried my luck at swimming. It was exhausting!! My tri-athalon training for the year is finished.
I did an easy breast stroke and my goal was 30 minutes. It was a long, long, long 30 minutes. I thought of Brent trying to be a needle, and I was more like a sewing machine. Lots of noise and splashing.
But it was nice to finish swimming and get to hang out in the hot tub and dry sauna. | Comments(2) |

Morning miles. I didn't want to get out of bed today. Not at all. I kept buying myself a few more minutes snooze button after snooze button until time was almost too late for anything at all. I'm ready to go back on vacation!!
I did get a good pace this morning. Maybe because I'd spent so much time in bed & I knew I had to hurry. I hope it stops raining so I can run home today. |

7.1 miles in the morning- watched the moon rising. Just a little orange sliver that moved up into a shiny white sliver. Orion was headed for the trees- it was a nice morning.
5 miles in the afternoon with MR on his bike. I loved it that he came and gave me an escorted run home.
Here's a run down of my diet for the day:
breakfast: 1/2 a candy bar and shredded wheat, followed by 8 hours of nothing but treats that included chocolate and/or powdered sugar. dinner: salad with ice cream (Thank you Jason's deli!).
Why does my tummy hurt? |

| | It's dropped 30 degrees in the morning from Monday. So 43 degrees shouldn't be that cold, but it's colder than it was Monday by a long shot. Slower this morning, but I didn't care because my legs & knees were tired from yesterday. |

| | morning run in the hood. dry for my run, but wet and rainy the rest of the day. After my wet run Sunday, it was nice to have my head dry. My feet still got wet stepping in puddles on my run. Oh well. Nice to have 2 pair of shoes to switch off for a dry pair. |

I hate it when poor communication leads to my run time being stolen away from me and me left sitting on bleachers in the cold for 75 minutes in dress shoes and slacks instead of enjoying an amazing morning run. Got to see my buccaneer boy today at his boot camp family day. Graduation is tomorrow!! Proud momma.

| | Hotel treadmill in the morning- gave myself enough time to get 6 miles in and then at mile 4.5, the drama started up again and I had to drop everything to drive 30 minutes to deliver something that I didn't even have with me. Deep breath- exhale. Graduation was wonderful and I'm glad to have my soldier home for the holidays!

| | Took me a long time to get ready this morning. All those layers and reflective belts & blinking lights take time to get going. I managed 4 miles- speed was okay. Glad today is the last day of work for a couple of weeks.

| | Sleeping in was nice. Running in the sunshine was wonderful. I felt like I was running super slow and had heavy legs. When I finished my run, I was amazed that I'd been running fast the whole time. It didn't feel like it at all.

| | Sunny but windy. MR and I waited a while before heading out. It warmed up to 34 degrees and we headed out. He ran 3 in the hood with me, then he got on the bike and rode along while I finished the last 9 or so. I did my best to run into the wind first, so the last leg of the run wasn't the hardest. My plan worked out- ( which is nice for a change)! I ended up running a route I don't really like, but it was worth the wind-less finish. One flat opossum and one rabbit with a lethal gunshot wound. Poor rabbit.

What a beautiful day! Sunny and warm :-) First 2 miles I tried running with my new soldier. He is fast and I had a hard time keeping up with him. Next 3 miles I ran with MR. Well, we started running together but his breakfast kept bubbling up his throat and he walked a bit while I ran the loop & some of the cul de sacs. Then I took a 2 mile victory lap walk with my mom who is visiting. The sun was wonderful! Perfect day for a run. Merry Christmas Y'all.

| | 15 mile bike ride with MR. It was windy but a nice day for a ride. We went slow since it'd been a long time since we've been on a real bike ride together. | Add Comment |
