Had a fun run with MR. He hadn't trained much for it, so we went slow and easy. It was such a crowded run that it would have been harder to run much faster without playing pinball with the other runners on the course.

There were almost twice as many runners on the course as the last time we ran it.

The number of people on the running course was too darn high!

I tried sprinting to the finish line the last mile, but the corral was blocked in and packed with runners. Almost impossible to pass people. It was this way almost the whole time. A few places the road got to be 3 or 4 lanes wide and there was a chance to move a little through the crowds.

It was nice to revisit the course, but I won't sign up for it again. I realized I didn't even get a chance to enjoy the views around the nation's capitol because I was so worried about running into other people.

Reaffirms my decision to look for smaller races.

I ran a race a few years ago where I started back too far. I ran way more than the 10k because I was running in and out of the gaps between people. It sounds like yours was worse. Frustrating.

I hear you about looking for smaller races. The big ones are too crowded and getting too expensive. I'm considering just signing up for one big race a year, probably the Wilson Bridge 1/2, since I like that one so much. You should run that one with me next year. You'd like it. Lots of room.

Burt- I am stealing that line and making it mine. If you only knew the conversations about the Army that I've had today. Your comment made me smile! 7 pm and it is quite possibly the first one of the day! Thank you.

Smaller races are always a lot more fun :)
