Worked on some core in the morning.  It's the only thing that doesn't really still hurt like crazy.

should have walked, but wanted to sleep.

I went for a walk this morning.  Half way around the loop I thought maybe I'd try a slow, easy jog.  I'm not sure I can even call it jogging.  It was very awkward, very slow, and very funny looking.  I think I was laughing outloud at myself a little.  But it got easier as I went along, and my legs feel so much better today.

On a different note, I had a Carolyn moment this morning when my oldest decided he wanted to go out and run.  I'm not sure how far he ran, but he was gone for 25 minutes or so.  Teens are always a bag full of surprises, aren't they?

walked for .5, then jogged slow and easy for one mile.  My legs felt so good after the short job yesterday, I wanted to get in another short one to help work out the aches for the day.

I was able to go down the stairs fast and easy at work today.  I finally felt 100% recovered.  It was a great feeling.

finally got to catch up on the yardwork I've been putting off every other Saturday.  Weeding and pruning..that kind of stuff.  Lots of bending and stretching.  So I'll call it a recovery workout :-)

Can't figure out for sure why my hostas are disappearing.  I saw a rabbit in the front yard late last night and suspected it was him, but when I went to water them today, one of the plants was there rootless and there was a mole hole next to it.  So maybe it's the stinking moles.  Maybe it's both.  I now have 2 of 9 hostas left in the yard.  I've got another 2 rootless plants in water cups trying to get them to re-grow roots.  Then I'll have to figure out where to plant them so the varmints leave them alone!

Felt caught up on sleep this morning, and since church starts late, I went out for an easy run.  It was already hot and humid, but there was a nice breeze.

did 10 min on elliptical while MR fixed some water pipe fittings in the garage attic.  I was out there in case he needed anything, and figured since I was there, the ellipticat was there, I was already sweaty, and the water in the house was turned off, I might as well do something with myself.

When he finished, we went for a bike ride around the hood.  It was a super easy effort, and the breeze cooled me off.  probably 3.5 miles.

It's nice having a late church time :-)

4 miles, beautiful weather.  5:15 am (I'm enjoying sleeping in).

warm up 10:07, then ran faster.  AP was 8:57.  That was a work out for me.  My legs still feel tired, but I think it's good training to practice running on tired legs.

I was going to do the shred video, but decided to water my plants and enjoy a few minutes outside in the beautiful morning air.  No regrets.

still had 2 hostas left this morning.  No plant thieves last night.

first day of summer break, so I let myself sleep in.  Big Mistake.

When I finally got out to run at 9:30, it was so hot and humid I couldn't stand it.  I finished 2 miles then tried to walk for a while so I could cool down.  After a mile of walking, I was just still hot and out of breath, but I managed to run one more mile home.  It was icky, icky, outside.

Took a little break and did my shred level one video again.  My body feels soreness in new places again.  I think it's good.

got out a couple hours earlier today.  7:15 to start the run.  It had rained all night and was very humid, but still overcast with a little breeze to help.

9:33 avg pace.  That was my best effort too. It's either the heat, or I've lost my running mojo, because I can't run fast or long anymore.

Did my shred level one again.

Then checked on my plants (all the hostas are gone and now my impatient is slowly disappearing),went shopping, made potato salad and chocolate banana bread.  Right now I'm enjoying a pirates of the caribbean marathon with mini-me.  AARRRGGGHHHHH.

All those piles of papers and organizing that needs to be done will just have to wait another day...I guess one more day won't matter when they've been waiting for months already :-)

Ran 2.7, then did bleachers & a loop on the track, then ran back to the car, but had a detour on the way back.  We'd run through a construction site on the way to the track (no one was there) but on the way back, the bulldozers were all moving about, so we had to take a detour through the golf course & across a bit of wilderness to get back to the trail.  The greens on the golf course are nice to run on :-)

A couple of hours later at home, we went for a bike ride to deliver some treats to Wyatt Earp, who is recovering from a perforated ear drum & ear infection.  The start of her summer break hasn't been as awesome as mine.  Total bike ride was just under 14 miles.  I was so excited when I had a sub 5 pace on my mile...even if it was just on the bike!

slept in.  Yeah!!!

Did my shred video, then went for a 3 mile walk with MR.  It was too hot outside to do anything else.  Except yard work...we did do some of that when we got back home.

Spent the afternoon with the kids.  Just finished prepping the coconut macadamia nut bread pudding for father's day breakfast tomorrow.  I'm going to have some calories to burn off after eating that tasty treat in the morning!!

Happy Father's Day to all those wonderful bloggin' fathers.

Hot run in the sun & humidity.  Took a .15 mile walk break at mile 4.5, so I really only ran 5 miles, but I was sweating the whole time if that makes any difference.

Planned on doing a shred but never got around to it.

Happy summer solstice y'all.

80-85 degrees with 57-44 % humidity.  I think it felt like 80% humidity.

got out a little earlier & cooler.  Not too bad until the sun was up in my face. 75 degrees, 85% humidity.  No walk breaks today.  Did shred level 1 when I got home.

The weather station in my neighborhood says it's 104 outside right now. (12:20) I think it's a little high.  All the other local stations are saying it's more like 94.  Either way, it's hot.

My nephew is on his way!!  Luckily, there was some shred of reason left in my dear sister's head this morning, and she drove to the hospital instead of running the 5 miles.  She claims it was due to vanity.

I can't wait to hear the news.  I'll put it on the blog when I find out.  Hopefully not too much longer!

Okay y'all...I've been away at the US National Whitewater Center for the last couple of days.  It was marvelous fun!

If you're ever near Charlotte, or just need an excuse to visit Charlotte, then you must go :-)

We went whitewater rafting (six one-hour long trips on the water), kayaked on the Catawba River, rock climbed, zip-lined, mountain biked, mega-jumped (40 foot drop), and confidence coursed on the high-wire.  I didn't run at all, except for the sprint I did from the confidence course to the rafting place so we didn't miss our trip time.  We got caught behind a cute little lady that was terrified of heights and took 30 minutes to finish a 10 minute course.  It was probably 1/3 of a mile, but I was booking it down the mountain side to get there on time.  I was a bit terrified of the mountain biking trails.  They were steeper and had a lot more trees than I'd imagined.  But after I got over my initial fears, I really, really, loved it.  WAY more fun than riding on the roads!!!  Took me back to my days in spinning class.

I am sore in so many places, but it feels rewarding, and was really worth it.  I'd love to go back sometime and take my kids.  But this was a nice get away for just the MR and me.

It'll be back to running for me on Monday.   Until then,  here's a couple of pix from the adventure.

6 am- 74o with 88% humidity.  avg pace 9:17.  SO much better than last Monday.  It was overcast the first half too, so I didn't have the sun to contend with until the last 1/2 of the run.

I wore the trail shoes because they had my inserts in them from my wild adventures last week (see Saturday's blog) so I just wore them on the road.  I don't think it really mattered for only 5 miles.

After the run, MR and I took mini-me and her friend to Wrightsville beach for the day.  It wasn't too hot (85-94o), and there was a nice wind blowing (14 mph with gusts up to 21) the whole time.  We walked the beach for a total of 4 miles, and spent a bunch of time out in the water.

The best part of my day was when MR was out looking for crabs on the sandy shelf where the tide was coming in, and all of a sudden he started dancing and jumping around like crazy.  I thought maybe a crab had pinched his toes.  Instead, it was a dead, slimy fish that had brushed up on his leg underwater.  It really was hillarious to see.

Nice to be back home with a shower and dinner sans sand.

Didn't get out till 7 today.  It was warmer and we had a bright sun up in the east.  Out in the west, the big moon was suspended in a sky that was the prettiest shade of blue.  Slight breeze when we started out, but it didn't last long.

Avg pace was 9:25 today.  Expecting cooler temps for the next few days.  I can't wait!  I've got a run planned on Thursday with Wyatt Earp to go visit a pond full of lilly pads.  Can't wait!

Tried the Wii boxing today.  What a workout :-)
