Not my best, not my worst.  I stopped my garmin when I had to wait in line to use the POP and it said my time was under 4:20.  So the POP really cut into my time.  I had to stop twice.  Bummer - literally.

There were only 816 people who ran the marathon.  I was in the top half.  Which doesn't say much for the people behind me.  Nice medal and finisher's long sleeve shirt.  They called it a jacket, but just because it has a 4 inch zipper under the chin, that doesn't really mean it's a jacket.  It will be nice to wear when cooler weather comes around again in the fall.

Highlight was seeing Meb, 2 weeks out from his Boston win.  I wonder if he's taken the medal off since then.

Here's the start of the run.

They began the run with a Howitzer blast...I just don't know how to post the video.  Because I hung out on the lawn video taping the blast, I was at the end of the field of runners.  Most of them were running the half marathon.  I tried to catch up to the 4:20 pace group but never did find them.  I passed the 4:00 pace group and got a bit worried, but then realized it was the half marathon 4:00 group.  They had some new kind of fuel drink/ electrolytes I'd never seen or tried before.  Might have had something to do with the bathroom breaks.  They promised that their product wouldn't cause stomach distress.  Pie Crust Promise.

I was sore for 5 days after finishing this run.  Lots of hills (I wasn't prepared for).  When people ask me how the marathon was, I say, "I'm glad it's over."  That's all I have to say about that.

I always feel the same way about marathons "glad its over". You did a great job sticking it out and finishing even with the POP stops. Now the best part ... no training for a little while. At least until you get the itch again (which usually comes within 2 weeks).

Then I realized it was the half marathon 4:00 group. LOL! Nice job!

I just love you, QP!!! Good job on the race even with the pop stops!!! :). 4:30 will be a dream for me now!!! How cool that you got to see Meb, that pic is priceless! Miss ya!
